Promised Land Ministries Outreach MEXICO Tierra Prometida Home of the Children Promised Land Outreach to Mexico began five years ago when the Spirit of the Lord spoke to us to "go" to Linares, Mexico and establish an orphanage. In obedience, a group of seven people from Promised Land made the first trip to this city. God immediately began to supernaturally open doors and give favor to the travelers. A vision was set in motion which will change the nation of Mexico. The Lord spoke that this children's home would be unlike any other. He would bring children here and reveal Himself to them in such a way that when they were grown they would leave Tierra Prometida and go into all of Mexico and "Bring Hope to the Nation." The first trip was made in May 1997. Great favor was given as legal papers were secured, property was acquired, and non-profit status was attained. Tierra Prometida is located approximately 5 miles outside the city of Linares on 10 acres of land. The house is three levels encompassing 5,685 square feet. There is a producing orange orchard with 945 trees. The rest of the land is fully landscaped. The Lord has raised up administrative leadership and in-house staff. The first children arrived in September of 2002. There are 16 children in the family at Tierra Prometida, along with a private school. In the future, a separate school building will be built, along with ministry quarters and another home for future children who will be added to the family. There is a "Helping Hands" Sponsorship program which helps provide for the children's food, clothing and living expenses. Each child is adopted by a sponsor, who provides $28 per month. There are profiles and pictures of the children available to sponsors. Mission trips are taken to Tierra Prometida several times a year. These trips are open to anyone who would like to help with the work there. Each traveler has to furnish their own finances for the trip. If you have a profession or skill and desire to share it with those at Tierra Prometida, it would be received as a great blessing. This outreach is an opportunity for you to serve as a short-term or long-term missionary. Opportunities for support: Aside from becoming a "Helping Hands " Sponsor or a missionary, we also invite you to be a part of Gideon's Army. We have purchased Tierra Prometida and have a balance to complete the total payment. Gideon's Army is the way the Lord has directed us to accomplish this goal. There will be 300 people who will give help of $110.73 each, which will totally pay off Tierra Prometida. Thank you for your prayers and financial support as we serve the Lord together. "Helping Hands" for Linares
The Lord imparted a vision to us of a place that would not be like any other orphanage. It would be a place the children would come to and never be ashamed to return to when they grew up and would show their children their "home." It would be a place where the children would know the presence of the Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit in such a way that when they were grown, they would go out and share the news of Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and bring hope to the nation of Mexico. It proves the scripture, "When your mothers and fathers forsake you, I will take you up." Linares Linares is located in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, southeast of Monterrey. It is in a valley with a mountain range on the west and south. The population is 75,000. There are a lot of American industries located there. The city is surrounded by many small colonias, with many poor and needy families in the area. Some of the people who come down from the mountains need a place to live, so they construct temporary housing that is often destroyed by the rains and winds that come. In the mountain area 45 minutes away from Linares, there are as many as 2,000 small colonias where the people suffer great poverty and oppression. There is no means of making a living and there is great need for food, medical help, and schools. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. We are thankful for the opportunity to unite with you and reach out to share the Word of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the nation of Mexico. Use the "Remarks" space to designate whether you are signing up as an individual, church or organization.) | Support Payment: Your $28 monthly sponsorship ministers to the whole child, body, soul and spirit, as together we give "Helping Hands" to the children of Mexico. Most sponsors send their gifts monthly, but you are welcome to send your pledge quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. After receipt of each payment, we send a Sponsor Payment Record, which lists your current and year-to-date payments. We do not send out monthly "bills." A Calendar is included in the sponsorship packet which will enable you to keep track of when your payments should be sent. A contribution envelope is included with each mailing. At the end of the year, you will receive a yearly total Sponsor Payment Record, which can be used for tax purposes. All donations to Promised Land Ministries and Tierra Prometida are tax-deductible. Write Your Child: We encourage you to write to your child. Cards and letters can minister to your child in a very unique way. Most likely, he or she has never received a piece of personal mail. It lets them know you are thinking of them even when you are not with them and that they are worth your spending time on them. They would also enjoy having a picture of you with your named printed on the back. This will help them get to know you. You may put your name and address on the return of the envelope and your child's name and I.D. number on the letter, but for your security, do not put your address or phone number in the body of the letter. Your letter will be translated and read to your child. Please be patient for a response. It will take three to six weeks for mail to arrive in Mexico. You may choose to use Promised Land Odessa for your return address. The correspondence you receive from your child will be translated and then sent on to you. The letter/card you send will require at least 60 cents postage due to being international mail. You should address it: Child's Name/ I.D. # Tierra Prometida Apartado #99 Linares, N.L. Mexico 67700 Special Gifts for Your Child: Sponsors may wish to send their child a gift for birthday, Christmas or some other special occasion. This can be handled in two ways. You can send an extra contribution, letting us know the occasion for the gift. One of the staff will shop for an appropriate gift and present it to your child in your name. Or, you may wish to purchase a gift and mail it yourself. It will take three to six weeks to arrive, and also the postage is expensive. Be sure to send any gift or correspondence with the child's name and I.D. # on it.
