Grandmama’s Corner
Grandmama’s Corner was in College Station for the Thanksgiving Season. We not only celebrated the holiday but Devin had his 2nd birthday that week. Usually sometime during our visit Grandmama and all the kids get in the kitchen and make breakfast for everyone. Since Devin was a baby, when he gets ready to eat I have put a bib on him. He doesn’t even wear a bib any longer. (We all know that he’s much too big for a bib) But when I am there I put one on him anyway. The first morning we were there we gathered in the kitchen and began to decide what we wanted to eat. While we were preparing the food Devin had waked up and his mom had taken him out of bed and dressed him. A few minutes later he came into the kitchen and saw that everyone was around the stove cooking. He walked right past us, paying us no attention, and pulled out the bottom drawer. ( This is the bib drawer.) He picked out a bib, pulled it over his head, went to the table, crawled up in his chair, looking straight ahead as he sat quietly waiting. His actions told everyone how hungry he was. He knew the quickest way to get food when Grandmama is there is to have a bib on. Even as young as he is he knows the quickest way to win. As I looked at him I thought of the scripture which instructs us in spiritual warfare. Do all (you know to do) and then stand. He had done all he knew to do to get food on the table quickly.
Eph. 6:13 ....and having done all , to stand.

2004 What a Year
What a joy it was to travel through 2004 with you. As a result of your love for the Lord, your faithful prayer support and generous financial support together we were able to touch lives around the world.
The weekly Bible Study Fellowship on Thursday mornings continues to be a place of seeking the Lord until we be found of Him, experiencing the Living Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us, praying for the sick people rising up healed, and hearing the prophetic word which becomes a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. The ministry of Promised Land is to be a place of refuge for anyone needing hope and encouragement. They will be built up in the word and the love of God until they can hear for themselves what God’s plan and destiny is for their life and we will help them go and follow that plan. We have seen this happen many times in 2004. You have enabled us to continue.

The Retreat Center is a place that is always prepared for times of celebrations whether that be prayer conference, church retreat, family reunions, weddings/ receptions or just one family who needs some time away from the business of life to re-connect with one another. Twice a year, February and October, we get to personally witness the presence of the Lord transforming lives when we have Promised Land Spring and Fall Women’s Retreats. As we get to witness changed lives we remember when we first came to Promised Land, the Lord spoke to us “ Prepare this place because Someone is coming.” I am continually reminded of the preparations going on in heaven. Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us.

There are preparations being made for the marriage supper of the Lamb. We are also told he will come again and we will be with Him. “ Someone is Coming” and the next person who comes may just be the Lord Jesus Christ. I see your love for Jesus Christ and the Truth each time the Retreat Center is used. It is through your giving heart and hands that the gates of Promised Land are always open.
As we closed 2004 we rejoice you have shared your blessings with us. Promised Land’s outreach was 37% of the total financial donation for the year. We receive your gifts with Thanksgiving and pray God will bless you a hundred fold.
At the close of each year a financial statement is available to contributors if requested.

Tierra Prometida Mexico
You are going to enjoy this report from Mexico. As this letter is being written we have 23 children in our family at Tierra Prometida. We spoke with Aurora two weeks ago and she gave us a wonderful praise report concerning the ministry at Tierra Prometida. The Christmas Holidays were a wonderful time for the children. There were guests coming in and out with gifts for the children. She said they do not need any more winter clothes or any more summer clothes. Everyday the children have new clothes to wear. A business in Linares provided new shoes for every child. Back to Back, a ministry from the states, came during December and stayed 24 hours. They finished the metal roof on the la palapa, repaired the watering system in the orchard, painted the reception area in the house and built a cabinet in the guest bathroom.
I had been disappointed because I had not been able to go to Tierra Prometida and tend to some of these things. But God’s provision is far greater than we can ask or hope or think ( or do). This ministry team accomplished more in 24 hours than we could have accomplished in a week. The Lord is so good.

Then Aurora told us about another local business which had given them seven sets of bunk beds. When the Lord calls us He will also do it. Rigo and Suli have made a move from Tierra Prometida to be closer to their family before their baby arrives. Aurora has already set someone else in their position. I thank the Lord for Pastor and Aurora and the anointing that is on them to stand in the administrative positions for Tierra Prometida.

Your support and sponsorship of Tierra Prometida has been a great encouragement to those children and the four adults on staff. Each person on staff is paid $36.00 a week. You may want to provide a support for one of the staff in this new year.

Gideon's Army marches on and with each step there are others that see where we are going and they rise up and come with us. As we march on, the voice of the loan on the house at Tierra Prometida has become lower and the sound of triumph and celebration is becoming louder and louder. Your faith and decision to join Gideon’s Army with a $110.73 gift has changed the amount of the loan from $37,500.00 to 18,720.69. Praise the Lord with us.
There will be a special dinner celebration for Gideon’s Army when this balance is “O”. Have you been approached to “Join the Army” lately? Well consider this a special invitation. Tierra Prometida wants YOU!
